Cottrell Ranch in the local news!

Saturday, November 1, NOA held the Inaugural 5K Freedom Run at the Cottrell Circle C Ranch in Dahlonega. It was a wonderful event thanks to the large amount of community support received. NOA is deeply grateful to the Cottrell family for hosting the run and for all the hard work that allowed this event to take place. Special recognition goes to Michael Cottrell who designed the logo for the run and put in extra time preparing the course and the ranch for the event. Ester Lipscomb designed and created beautiful, one-of-a-kind, ceramic medals for the winners. Thank you to those who ran as well as to the sponsors. The Gold level sponsors were The Cottrell Circle C Ranch, Dr. John Raber, and Artisitic Printing. Silver level sponsors were Dr. Kurtz of Foothills Family Medicine and Chris Bearden. Bronze level sponsors were Lumpkin 400 Storage, Juanita Tipton, Dr. Brandon Reynolds, Appalachian Community Bank, Pueblos, Bannister Funeral Home, Emily Lewy, Stroud Stacy, The Dawson News and Advertiser, The Dahlonega Nugget, Rachel Pruitt, Achasta, CertaPro Painters, and United Community Bank. Thank you to all who supported NOA’s efforts as the VOICE for victims of domestic violence in Lumpkin and Dawson County. The event was NOA’s first ever run and was themed on Freedom, the Freedom to Vote and Freedom from Violence! Sponsorships were offered to local candidates and officials to allow the community to know more about government and local representatives. NOA provides safe haven and support services for victims of domestic violence. Through educational programs, NOA works to foster attitudes in the community that violence is not acceptable.
